Mike Denevi

Head Coach - Varsity

2011 is Coach Denevi's second year as Head Coach.  Coach Denevi graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1971.  He played three years varsity baseball and football and one year of varsity basketball.  He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs but accepted a scholarship  to Santa Clara University.  Coach Denevi was a four year starter, named All WCAC and was selected to play on the U.S. Baseball team in 1974.  Coach Denevi spent four years playing professionally in the Kansas City Royal organization, ending in Omaha (AAA) in 1978.  Coach Denevi previously assisted at Los Gatos High School in 1981-1983.  Coach Denevi was inducted to the Los Gatos High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.  Mike and his wife Patty live in Los Gatos and have 3 grown children and one grandson.

Casey Neale

Assistant Coach - Varsity

Casey joins the Varsity staff in 2011 after guiding the Frosh Soph in 2010. Casey attended Los Gatos High and Valley Christian High. He was CCS Player of the Year, Hot Stove Player of the Year and 1st Team All State as a prep. He attended San Mateo JC earning 2nd team All State. He was a member of the Oklahoma City NAIA 2006 National Championship team.

 Casey brings a huge passion for the game and will be working primarily with hitting and outfield instruction.

Brian Market

Assistant Coach - Varsity

Brian brings a huge passion for the game and his influence will have a big impact on the Los Gatos roster.  Brian is a life-long resident of San Jose where he attended James Lick High School, and played three and a half years on their varsity baseball team. His last two years he served as Captain. Brian received the Team MVP his Freshman, Sophomore and Junior year and was Most Inspirational Player his Senior year along with 1st team his first 3 years. Brian sustained a career ending shoulder injury in the first game of his senior season. Brian received the Physical Education Student Athlete of the Year Award in 1994, which goes to the student athlete that best demonstrates the highest achievements in school, the field, and the community. He also lettered in Soccer and received 1st team all league in his one and only season.

Brian is currently entering his 16th season coaching baseball where he has served as
a High School coach for 8 years, including the Los Gatos High Frosh-Soph for a 2 year stretch, winning one title and tying the other, Pony Coach for 4 years and a Norcal Coach for 8 years.  Highlights of coaching include winning the World Wood Bat championship in 2004, the AAU National Championship in 2005, and the BCS National title in 2007.

Brian enters his 13th year teaching at Merryhill School where he serves as a PE Coach and the girls Athletic Director.

Brian is currently engaged to Maria and has a 7 year old daughter Kaylina and soon to be 10 year old step-son Antonio.

John Oldham

Assistant Coach - Varsity

Coach Oldham is in his fourth season as pitching coach at Los Gatos High School.  Coach Oldham was a four year varsity starter at Campbell High School and was named the top player in the 1950 North-South Prep All Star Game. He attended San Jose State University on a baseball scholarship.  From 1954-58, Coach Oldham played professional baseball for the Columbia Reds (AA, South Atlantic League) and in Washington for the Seattle Rainiers (Pacific Coast League). In 1956, he appeared in one game with the Cincinnati Reds.

Oldham coached at Campbell High School from 1959-1963.  His teams won three championships. He then spent two years at Westmont High School.  In 1966, he moved to San Jose City College where he coached for 18 years.  His City College teams won five Golden Gate Conference championships.  Oldham left San Jose City with 390 victories. In 1985, he was hired as the skipper at Santa Clara University, where he spent 13 seasons, accumulating a record of 433-324-6, and retired as the second winningest coach in Broncos baseball history. His SCU teams won conference titles in 1994, 1996, and 1997, and earned a place in the NCAA playoffs in 1988 and in each of their three conference title years.  Coach Oldham was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.

Anthony Skaran

Assistant Coach - Varsity

Coach Skaran played baseball at Los Gatos High for 4 years. In 2005 his team captured 1st place in league with a record of 26-6 and were runner ups in the division II Central Coast Sections. This will be his 6th year coaching at Los Gatos High School. While coaching JV he captured a first place title in league. In 2009 he was an assistant coach on Brad Sanfilippo's staff when the Wildcat varsity team took 1st in the De Anza League Division and won the Central Coast Section Division II title.
